HSE new first aid training scheme for 2009

The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) is changing the way first aid training for the workplace is regulated.

Changes include a new, shorter, syllabus for the First Aid at Work (FAW) training.  This is currently held over 4 days but will be 3 days from October 2009.

Other changes include a new qualification called Emergency First Aider in the Workplace (EFAW), this will replace the current 1 day Emergency First Aid “Appointed Persons” course.
