Pediatric first aid training untouched by HSE reforms

The planned reforms for workplace first aid training will not affect the Pediatric First Aid courses designed for those in the Early Years sector (nurseries, childminders etc.)

Why is this ?  Because two seperate government organisations deal with first aid training :

HSE (Health and Safety Executive) – long established to enforce, inspect and promote safety in the workplace – deals with ALL types workplaces and regulates the training needed to provide first aid to employees.

OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) – a newish outfit, inspects schools, nurseries etc. They “inspect and regulate care for children and young people, and inspect education and training for learners of all ages.”  But also  enforce the “guidance” provided by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

OFSTED has little to do with the HSE.
