What is an AED?

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a small portable device that allows the user to deliver a defibrillation shock to a casualty in cardiac arrest but only if the casualty requires it.

Once turned on, the AED will guide the user through each step of the defibrillation process with audio and or visual instructions.
