The Fire Safety Order 2005 is legislation coming into force on 1st October 2006 to alter the law on workplace fire safety.  The main changes are :
- buildings will no longer be issued "Fire Certificates" by the local Fire Brigade.
- employers will be required to carry out risk assessment
- this item of fire safety legislation replaces multiple laws/regulations
