Do we learn how to use fire extinguishers on the course?
Yes, Fire Safety courses include how to choose and use the correct fire extinguisher. You will have an opportunity to use
our fire extinguishers.
Can we do a Fire Safety course instead of a fire drill at our workplace?
No, all workplaces must take steps instruct their staff on matters of fire safety.
A Fire Safety training course is not a substitute for doing regular fire drills at your workplace.
What is the Fire Safety Order 2005?
The Fire Safety Order 2005
is legislation which came into
force on 1st October 2006 to
alter the law on workplace fire
safety. The main changes were :
- buildings
are no longer be issued "Fire Certificates" by the local Fire Brigade.
- employers
are required to carry out risk assessment
- this item of fire safety legislation replaces multiple laws/regulations
