basic food safetyThis course is for anyone involved in preparing, cooking, or serving food. Good food hygiene can mean safer food, fewer complaints and reduced costs. The course can also help you to comply with legislation, in particular the Food Hygiene Regulations 2006.

The Fundamentals of Food Safety course lasts one day and is suitable for staff training on your own premises. We also run courses open to individuals at our Central London training rooms.

The course is nationally recognised and a certificate from the Royal Society of Public Health is awarded to all those who attend.

The cost of an individual place on a course at our training rooms is £135.00 each including VAT. See dates below.

The cost of a course for up to twelve persons on your own premises is £690.00 including VAT. Please contact us to arrange times and dates.

Food Hygiene training usually takes one day.

For how long does the Food Hygiene or Food Safety training certificate last?
Three years is current recommendation for renewing Food Hygiene  or Food Safety training.

Is there an exam at the end of the Food Hygiene or Food Safety training?
Yes, it is a multiple choice exam and all the information needed to pass the exam is explained during the Food Hygiene or Food Safety training course.

Do I need Food Hygiene or Food Safety training if I want to open a small business just selling sandwiches and snacks?
Yes, you do need Food Hygiene or Food Safety training if you are involved in the food trade however small your food business is when you start.  Remember that with good food hygiene or food safety training and hard work it may become a big food business.

Do I need to register my party catering business with the local authority Environmental Health Office?
Yes, you must register.  Registration is free and you will find the Environmental Health Officers will be expecting to find that you have up to date Food Hygiene or Food Safety training.

My English is not very good.  Can the questions be read for me in the Food Hygiene or Food Safety exam?
Yes, they can.  Extra time, 25%, can also be allowed.

Do I have to send my staff to your training centre near Kings Cross and Pancras Stations or can you send a teacher to my hotel and have the Food Hygiene or Food Safety training in our workplace?
Yes, we can provide a Food Hygiene or Food Safety training course on your own premises.  This means the Food Hygiene or Food Safety training can take place on a day of your choice and the timings can be adjusted to meet your requirements.
