New course launched – City and Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

We have just launched the new Level 5 DET course which is the ultimate training and teaching adults qualification and it has replaced the previous DTLLS course.

Designed in conjunction with the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) we are pleased to be offering the very latest and most up to date qualification in the field of education and training.

As with all our courses plenty of work has gone on behind the scenes to ensure that our candidates get the best possible tuition and support when enrolled with us. Our Teacher Training team has been busy with course planning, writing learning materials and scheduling professional updates.

Being a Level 5 qualification, the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) is comparable to gaining a PCGE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education), in terms of course content and validity, and is also a route to gaining the coveted QTLS – Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status.

How we deliver the DET course

The course is taught at our training centres via a programme of thorough lessons, covering the qualification content needed for candidates to progress and learn. This ensures plenty of face to face contact involving learners and our team of tutors which, unlike distance learning, provides direct opportunities for personal input, guidance and progression. There really is no substitute for participating directly with our expert tutors – and we don’t skimp on time either as we schedule the course so that you are actually taught the full recommended hours, rather than just sent away to work on your own. This hands-on approach will ensure that you have the best possible learning experience and support throughout the course.

As well as the thorough input via the taught component of the course candidates also benefit from the one-to-one sessions with your allocated tutor, enabling tailored support and advice as well as individual support.

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) course aims to give you not only expertise in and knowledge of the latest theories in education and training, but also the chance to engage by developing these in the teaching and training that you do. You will not only research and study the subject, but you will have the opportunity to ensure that your studies have a practical outcome in terms of tangible benefits to your role as an educator or trainer.

The qualification includes development of knowledge, understanding and skills related to teaching, learning and assessment in education and training as well as the practical elements of creating and maintaining inclusive learning for your lessons.
